Morning Walks

Thursday, January 6, 2011

This semester, I rearranged my schedule so that all my classes are in the afternoon. I did this so that I could find a morning job--still working on that. But even while I'm searching, I've decided that I'm going to use my mornings wisely. Which means, no sleeping in till 11 am.

With that goal in mind, I woke up today and took a walk to the temple. It was a chilly, but sunny morning. There wasn't much commotion--everything was peaceful, and everything was covered with a blanket of sparkling snow. It was nothing short of beautiful.

Have you ever noticed how beautiful and fresh everything seems in the morning? There's  just this feeling of serenity that can't be duplicated. It gives you space to think. That's why I love taking morning walks--they refresh me. For the rest of the day I felt calmer and was more carefree than I normally do, and I don't doubt that being outdoors right after a glorious sunrise had something to do with it.

I'm so glad I had the opportunity to enjoy my morning this way, and I'm definitely going to do it more from now on. As far as I'm concerned, opportunities that give good feelings should be done as much as possible.
