Cupcakes

Today, I woke up early. And it wasn't to study, or to go jogging, or to get to class in a timely fashion. It was for a better purpose than that.
Yep, you guessed it--I woke up early for the sole purpose of making cupcakes. I made them in honor of the BCS game in which my home state's team, the University of Oregon Ducks, was playing. And I regret nothing.
Thing number one that I love about cupcakes--they just smell good! Not long after I began the baking process, the kitchen filled with the delicious aroma of Yellow Cake. A few of my roommates came home from class, opened the door, took a whiff, and exclaimed, "wow, it smells good in here!" Definitely an upside.
Thing number two--you don't have to cut pieces, as for cake. You can just take one neatly frosted one and be satisfied in two or three bites. No knife necessary.
Thing number three--they almost ALWAYS taste good, in addition smelling good. I was amazed at how well the cupcakes I made turned out. It was divine. They were gobbled up more quickly than I expected them to be. Even though the designs on top of some of them were a little disappointing, they were still winners.
Thing number four--you can decorate them in all sorts of creative ways. I mean, look at the cute little guy up above. Need I say more?

Thing number five-- THIS. So Adorable.
Who invented cupcakes? I just want to give them a giant bear hug. I love these delicacies :) So, cupcake inventor… thank you, thank you, whoever you are!
